About the Job:

Obtained is looking for a dynamic “Jack of all Trades” person for the role of Head of Operations - a professional with proven experience

in leading fintech startups through the complexities of regulatory changes, operational challenges, sales hurdles, and growth spurts.

 

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s operational efficiency and scalability. You will align our operational strategies with the overarching business objectives, overseeing essential functions such as payments, regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal processes.

 

Your expertise will be instrumental in creating and implementing robust company processes and management strategies. You will leverage advanced business intelligence tools, including CRM systems, to establish and monitor departmental KPIs, driving performance and accountability.

 

In addition to your operational responsibilities, you will engage in strategic assignments and represent Obtained at industry conferences, effectively communicating our vision and capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong strategic mindset, extensive experience in fintech operations, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job Title – Head of Operations (on-site)

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing business strategies and plans that align with business objectives.
  • Translating strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Achieving and surpassing business goals and objectives, increasing productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Presenting operational strategy recommendations to the board based on market research.
  • Overseeing company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and organizational goals are met.
  • Analyzing internal operations and identifying areas for process enhancement.
  • Continuously analyzing department activity, payment systems, suspicious activity, KYC, and AML procedures.
  • Conducting risk management across the business to ensure it is effectively managed and controlled.
  • Effectively identifying and managing risks, driving control enhancements.
  • Overseeing the operational budget with a focus on cash flow and financial modeling for long-term and short-term projections.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Providing regular reports to the board on operational achievements, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Working closely with the board to align operational strategies with overall business goals.
  • Collaborating with the board in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
  • Building and maintaining trusting relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Building strong relationships with senior management to ensure effective resource management.
  • Maintaining a pragmatic and logical approach to decision-making, prioritizing practical impact.
  • Creating company processes and implementing management and business intelligence tools, including CRM, to help track departmental KPIs.
  • Taking hands-on intervention in strategic assignments and representing the company at conferences.

What makes you a great fit:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in a senior operations role, preferably within the fintech industry or financial services.
  • Proven track record overseeing payments, regulatory compliance, and risk management functions.
  • Strong understanding of fintech operations, payment systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Relevant certifications in operations management, compliance, or risk management (a plus).
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
